Our Policies

The goal of our program is to promote a safe, positive, and social environment for all dogs enrolled at South Paws. To ensure the safety, health, and happiness of all dogs in our care, we require that all pet owners adhere to the following policies.

Required Vaccinations & Treatments

  • DHLPP: Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus.
  • Bortadella: AKA “Kennel Cough” vaccine. Administered every 6 months to 1 year.
  • Rabies: Vaccination and registration must be provided.
  • Effective topical or oral flea & tick treatment.
  • Monthly heartworm medication.

Spaying/Neutering

All females should be spayed by 6 months of age. Males should be neutered by 6 months of age. If you anticipate a delay in spay or neuter for medical reasons, please let us know so we can determine if it is safe and comfortable for your pet to play with us.

Payment

Payment is required at drop off and a valid credit card must be kept securely on file with us.

Cancellation & Late Pickup

All dogs in our daycare must be picked up by 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

A late fee of $10 will be incurred beginning at 1:05 PM for “Half Day” clients.

Minimum Attendance

For the safety and comfort of all of our daycare clients, we require a minimum of 1 visit per week. We also require that all dogs be dropped off to us by 10:00 AM. By adhering to this policy we can ensure that all dogs stay familiar and friendly with the rest of the group.

We offer discount packages based on pre-payment and regular attendance with larger discount packages available the more frequently you attend. It is possible to temporarily “freeze” your account because of illness or vacation with advance notice.

We will not apply any discounts to past-due accounts. All packages must be paid for in advance of service.

Trial days & Evaluation

Trial dogs will now have 3 consecutive trial days to ensure they are a good fit for a daycare environment. These trial days are spent with one of our trainers for a more one-on-one experience. They will be evaluated to ensure they are a good fit for daycare, and they will also be introduced at a pace that works for them.

Trial days & Evaluations are prepaid ($40.00), a credit card will be required prior to day 1.

Additionally, we will be running a report card at the end of each trial day to ensure proper evaluation.

Temperament Evaluation

All dogs in our care will socialize with a variety of other dogs. Your dog should have no previous history of aggression towards humans or dogs. If we find that our program is not suitable for your dog’s comfort and safety, we will do everything we can to assist you in finding appropriate alternative care.
