Karen Price, Owner
Karen is a lifelong animal lover. She enrolled in the Pre-Vet program at U-Mass Amherst graduating with a BS in Animal Science. After a few years working with a medical supply distributor and then a food distributor, she found a great job with Central Garden & Pet, the largest pet supply wholesaler and manufacturer in the world. Karen worked as a Special Accounts Manager at Central Garden & Pet for 8 years. After having children, her desire to have a better work and home balance prompted her to open South Paws in 2006 with the support of her husband Tim.
Amanda B, Groomer and part-time Daycare Handler
Amanda has been with us since 2011 as our Professional Groomer and Team Leader. She graduated from Mt Ida and has many years of experience grooming in salons, vet offices, retail outlets, and mobile grooming. All of her experience shows in the work that she does. In 2015, Amanda completed her education to become a Professional Dog Trainer with The Animal Behavior College. She is also active in helping out local rescues and shelters.
Jenn, General Manager
Jenn has been on the South Paws team since 2011 where she started out as a handler and is now manager. She has years of dog handling experience working in boarding kennels, shelters, and in the dog walking industry. She is a 2011 graduate of U-Mass Amherst and holds a BS in Psychology. Jenn now lives in Weymouth with her 8 year old ‘fur-child’ named Felishia who she loves taking on nature hikes.
Jared, Full-time daycare handler
Jared has been with the South Paws team since 2018. Jared hails from Halifax and comes to us with 2 years of experience in the daycare industry. Jared is a man of few words. He is is awesome with the dogs and is a great addition to our team.
Beth, Part time daycare handler
Beth joined us in 2012 when we needed a little short term help for a few hours a day a couple of days a week. Beth has been with us ever since. She has a love for all the dogs in our care, especially the small dogs. When Beth is not at South Paws, she is a school bus driver for the Town of Pembroke.
Cathy, part-time daycare handler
Cathy has been with South Paws since 2014. Prior to that, she was a Personal Trainer at Body to Soul Fitness for 9 years. In 2011, she received her Holistic Health Coach Certification. Cathy has a real passion for working with dogs, and especially loves spending time with her fur baby Finn.
Paula, part-time daycare handler
Grace, Full-time Daycare Handler and Retail Manager
Grace came to us in 2016 and is a MA native. She has 5 years experience working for a cat rescue in Chicago and also attended classes at Chicago Canine Academy. Upon moving to TX, Grace worked for a national pet boarding chain called “Pet Paradise”. Just prior to coming on board with us, Grace was a dog walker in the Metro-Boston area. She is currently working on her Business Management Degree from Strayer University.
KIERSTEN, Full-time daycare handler
Kiersten is the newest member of our team. She has always wanted to work with animals, especially dogs. She has experience working in various kennels and has also trained as a vet tech at Roberts Animal Hospital. She loves spending time with her dog, Winks who she adopted 2 years ago from Paws of New England. Kiersten and Winks currently reside in Kingston and she is happy to be a part of the team here at South Paws!
Amanda G, part-time daycare handler
Amanda graduated from Bridgewater State College in 2009 with a degree in Criminal Justice, but always knew that working with animals is what truly makes her happy. She has many years’ experience working in daycares, kennels, shelters, and veterinary facilities. She also received her Veterinary Certificate from Massasoit in 2015. Amanda has been cross country to attend many different dog handling related workshops and seminars. She has been with South Paws since 2017. Amanda now lives in Pembroke with her husband, daughter, and their two rescue dogs.
